Seismic displacement of earth slopes incorporating co‐seismic accumulation of dynamic pore water pressure

چکیده
The earthquake-induced displacement of sloping soil mass is an important indicator co-seismic landslide initiation. In this paper, improved Newmark model that considers the accumulation dynamic pore water pressure (DPWP) in caused by both vertical and horizontal ground motions proposed. can quantitatively describe changes seismic yield acceleration near-saturated infinite slopes. Three different types motion time histories are selected to compare performance proposed model, influence DPWP on slope obtained. analyses indicate weakening effect bidirectional earthquake excitation-induced more obvious than when only considering motion, slip surface soils state. initial saturation (Sr0) also investigated. Furthermore, accumulated be reasonably explained frequency distribution characteristics motions. Finally, numerical results paper show seldomly DPWP, or induced significantly underestimate value a

Estimation of pore water pressure in the body of earth dams during construction with intelligent models
One of the basic measures in managing the stability of earth dams is to accurately estimate the amount of pore water pressure in the body of the dam during and after its construction. In this study, three different models of artificial neural network (ANN), adaptive neural-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and gene expression programming (GEP) to estimate the pore water pressure in the body of Kab...

Seismic pore pressure prediction with uncertainty using a probabilistic mechanical earth model
We propose a methodology to propagate uncertainties in seismic pore pressure prediction using a 3-D Probabilistic Mechanical Earth Model (P-MEM). An extended form of Bowers formula is used to link pore pressure to seismic velocity, overburden stress, porosity and clay volume. Probability Distribution Functions (PDFs) for all input variables are stored as attributes in the 3-D MEM. An output PDF...
متن کاملseismic analysis of lateral earth pressure and retaining walls
eart pressure problems are encountered in retaining walls, bulkheads, sheeting and bracing in cuts, culverts, tunnels, and cofferdams. in many cases, the lateral pressure is determined by use of classical earth pressure theories, such as coulomb's, where the equilibrium conditions of a failure wedge of soil is considered. excessive dynamic lateral earth pressure on retaining structures resu...
متن کاملSeismic Active Earth Pressure of Narrow Geosynthetic-Reinforced Backfill on Rigid Facing
In the narrow geosynthetic-reinforced retaining walls a stable rear wall exists in a short distance and so there is no enough space to extend appropriate length of reinforcements. In this case, the probability of overturning of retaining wall increases especially when subjected to earthquake loading. To increase the stability of the wall, reinforcements may be connected to the stable rear surfa...
